Getting made over at Sephora for new bareMinerals READY eyeshadows

Hi everyone!
Just recently I signed up for the launch event at my local Sephora (inside JcPenney) for the new Bare Escsentuals bareMinerals READY eyeshadow 4.0 (some name, huh?) They didn't even have them for sale yet, let alone were the eyeshadows in proper compacts. They were in labeled sample containers. I wasn't planning on making a purchase of these anyway, so it didn't really matter to me.
Here is one of the quads, "The Dream Sequence".

And here is a duo called, "The Enlightenment".

There's been a bit of a hype surrounding these products, as they are described (on Sephora) to be "exceptionally vivid, long-wearing complementary colors in an ultra-smooth, silky texture for effortless application and seamless blendability". But that's not all these shadows are described as. Apparently, these shadows have anti-aging properties in them. They contain caffeine, which is a well-known de-puffer for the eyes and skin and cucumber, which is soothing for the skin as well. It contains antioxidants and something called "cold-pressed borage oil", which is an Omega 6 Fatty Acid that many people don't get enough of. (I honestly had no idea what it was until I looked it up.) The description also claims it feels like a cream (although it is a powder).
Something I think is the most exciting overall aspect of these shadows is the amount of ingredients they are formulated without, which are:

  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Synthetic Fragrances
  • Synthetic Dyes
  • Petrochemicals
  • Phthalates
  • GMOs
  • Triclosan

These ingredients can be harsh on skin and damaging, which is why it is so important that these shadows are without them! Now, onto what I think of the shadows.

I asked the woman who did my makeup to do a brown smokey eye because I like neutrals more than blacks/blues/silvers. We had to compromise because originally she was going to just do a smokey eye until I asked for a natural eye. I took the fun out of it until we agreed on a brown smokey, ha.

I wouldn't necessarily say these shadows feel like cream as the description said. they are powder, extremely pigmented and soft powder, but not with a cream-like texture. She used the quad called, "The Truth", which is neutral shades, and I'm pretty sure she used the duo in "The Escape".
Let me just say that these shadows are incredible, the hype is well worth it, as well as the price. For what it's worth, you are getting a product that is healthy and safe as well as amazing quality. They blended like a dream and were so soft on the eye, it barely felt like I was wearing as much eyeshadow as I was. I wish I had taken a better quality picture but, I only have the ones I did in the dark of my room (smart move on my part... whatever, I'll upload the ones I have anyway). The color payoff as well as the stay power is just phenomenal compared to many other shadows.  I would definitely recommend these shadows, they are exceptional quality. There are more color options in the duos then there are in the quads at Sephora, but maybe I need to do some more searching.

Pricing

The duos are $20 and the quads are $30 at Sephora and ULTA.
I definitely think you get more for your money for the four rather than the two, but there are more colors in the duos that make it well worth it if you fall in love with the colors. And there are such more of a selection of colors in the duos to choose from rather than four palette options in the quads.
I think it would be great if Bare Escentuals made a holiday palette with a good amount of these shadows, they are beautiful!

Here are some pictures I took after I got home from Sephora that day...
